Safety first

Stay safe from loan fraud

Fraudsters copy the names of real lenders. Learn the red flags, test yourself, and know exactly what to do if something feels wrong.

What we never do

Five promises

  • We never ask for money to release a loan. Pay only the charges in your KFS, from your own bank account.
  • We never ask for your OTP, PIN, CVV or password.
  • We never ask you to install a remote-access app such as screen-sharing software.
  • We never access your contacts, photos or gallery without clear, specific consent.
  • We never call outside 8:00 am to 7:00 pm for recovery, or abuse or threaten you.
Red flags

Signs of a loan scam

Upfront fees to a personal account

Any "insurance", "GST" or "release" fee paid before disbursal to a personal UPI ID or account is a fraud.

Extreme urgency

"Offer expires in 10 minutes" is a tactic to stop you from thinking or checking.

Requests for OTP or passwords

Sharing an OTP can give a fraudster access to your bank account.

Unknown apps

Apps outside official stores, or apps asking for contacts and gallery, are risky.

Guaranteed approval

No lender can promise approval without checking your credit and income.

Threats and shaming

Messages to your contacts or threats are illegal harassment.

How to verify a lender

Check before you share anything

  • Ask for the lender's RBI Certificate of Registration number and check it against the list of registered NBFCs on rbi.org.in.
  • Download apps only from the official app store and read the permissions they ask for.
  • Check the website address carefully. Fraudsters copy names with small changes in spelling.
  • Use only the phone numbers and emails on our Grievance and contact page.
  • Never click loan links received from unknown senders on SMS or WhatsApp.
Safe habits

Everyday protection

  • Turn on two-factor authentication on your bank and email accounts.
  • Do not share screenshots of your bank statement, PAN or Aadhaar on chats with unknown people.
  • Pay EMIs only from your own bank account to the lender's listed account or official payment link.
  • Tell elderly family members about these scams. They are often targeted.
If you were scammed

Act quickly. These steps help.

1

Call your bank

Ask to block cards or UPI and to hold or reverse any recent transfers.

2

Call 1930

Report on the National Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 as early as possible.

3

File online

Register a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in with screenshots and transaction details.

4

Tell us

If our name was misused, inform us on the contact page so we can warn others.

Never pay a "recovery agent" who says they can get your money back for a fee. That is often a second scam.
